Ways To Relax

Its getting to a busy time of the year, some might say the busiest time. We are all hurrying around, trying not to think about Christmas, but then you want to be organised for Christmas.. so we are buying presents, getting worried and stressed about what to get your great aunts daughters friends cat for a present. I know its only November, but its only just over a month until the special days. We've got the coldness, the icy weather and all the horrible bits about this time of the year, which make you want to snooze that alarm clock a few too many times. I know, I get stressed over this time of the year because I can't wrap for shit, haha. So, I thought I would share some little things that make me less worried/stressed and some of these may or may not work for you, and I know some of them are very sad and just a bit weird, but they work for me.

ONE - Cosiness
I love getting home from work/school/college and lighting a candle, sitting in front of the fire with a lovely hot chocolate with all the trimmings and then climbing into new fresh bedding. I've actually got new bedding on my bed, and I cannot wait to climb in tonight! Besides the point, just making yourself cosy, run a bath, do a face mask, have something amazing for dinner. Just treat yourself, with the little things. It will make you so much more relaxed because you think you are so organised. Also, get a good nights sleep, try to really get your 8 hours, so the next day you won't be as stressed because you aren't going to be grumpy and moody in the morning.

TWO - Exercise
I know a 5 hour gym session isn't for everyone, and it certainly isn't for me either. But I have really been into running recently, I love going in the evening and in the morning. Especially the morning because it wakes my body up very naturally. Exercise is great for relaxing your mind because you are doing an activity which is very different to what you do on a day to day basis (unless you do work in a gym or something like that). Don't give me the whole "I've broken my knee, its cold, I would rather sit in and watch Eastenders" because as much as I want to know whats going down at the Queen Vic, we all need exercise. Even if its just a casual walk to the corner shop. It is all good and I believe that exercise outside is the best too because theres just all the fresh air.

THREE - Reading
Reading is brilliant too, just like the above #2, It just gives your mind something else to think about. I love reading, I love getting so into a story, and imagining characters that you have created. Just take 30 minutes out of your day to chill, lay on the sofa and read a chapter or two. Get lost into a book, and really imagine things. This really does relax me, because my mind is somewhere else and all my worries go... for a little while. Obviously they come back, because thats life but to relax its amazing. I am currently reading Girl On The Train, (I can do book reviews - if thats something you would
like?!).

My last advice to you is, if something is really really bothering you, go and sort it out. Think to yourself, you have one life... is this thing really worth bothering about, is it effecting my life, if yes go and do what you can to sort it and try the tips above to help in the mean time. But a lot of things I stress over, really won't matter to me in a year, or even a week in some cases! Its just silly a lot of the time, and we will laugh over it a few days later.. But just try and get a hobby to relax with and take yourself out of the situation for a while, take some me time.

Review: Rimmel Fresher Skin Foundation

I don't do many reviews and I'm not really too sure why. I feel like I'm really not very good at them because I like to try lots of new products, so I feel like I don't give a very true review. However, the ones in the past have done really well on here. I have reviewed a few fake tans in my time heres one and here is a foundation review.

Today, I am going to review the new foundation from Rimmel, one of the biggest drugstore brands. You know if you know me personally, or you have been reading for a while.. that I love Rimmel, their foundations are normally amazing. I'm a big fan of their lasting finish 25 hour foundation. However, I didn't get on the best with their newest release 'fresher skin' foundation. Rimmel used to do a pot foundation, which I believe was the 'true match' before it went into just the liquid formula. I really really liked that one, but sadly it was discontinued *insert sad face*. This is why I really wanted to try this foundation, to see if it lived up to my trustly old one.

Fresher skin claims to be 'breathable' to have a 'natural finish' and not to clog pores. I agree with the fact that it has a natural finish, so that means that its not really dewy and shiny and its not completely matte. It's basically somewhere in the middle with a natural skin like finish. I wouldn't say I noticed it to be breathable or not clog my pores, it just seemed like it didn't sit right on the skin.
RRP: £7.49

Cons on the foundation:

- I found that it didn't sit right on the skin, I tried lots of different primers, no primers at all, powdering and not powdering. It just didn't work, it almost felt like it was separating on the skin, and no one wants that.
- Oxidises. This is something I personally find that drugstore foundations do quite a lot on me. The colour just changes on my skin, it goes much more orangey and darker throughout the day.
- The smell, I cannot explain this smell apart from quite chemically and perfumed.

Pros on the foundation:

- The consistency, its very light and slightly air whipped (it reminds me of), so it doesn't feel like theres loads of foundation caked onto the skin.
- The colour range, there are quite a few different shades, but I do find Rimmel to be one of the better brands when it comes to colour range. I had the shade 100 ivory. However, it does oxidise on my skin.
- It has an SPF of 15 in, which is good because its very important to protect your skin from the sun.

Overview:

I would recommend this foundation, if you want a light coverage and want it to last a few hours. But it doesn't last too long on me, it just cracks up and separates. But I personally think there are much better foundations on the market, even in the drugstore. L'Oreal True match is a great medium coverage, something lighter, the No7 BB creams or Garnier BB's. Going back to the Rimmel 'fresher skin' I also am not a massive fan of the packaging. It comes in a pot, I just feel like I would be putting bacteria in the pot, with keep having to open it, getting air in the pot and then sticking my finger in. I think a pump is much better. Please do let me know if you really like this foundation, because I might just be using it completely wrong, or your skin type is different to mine (I have oily/normal skin). I don't want to offend Rimmel either, because it is a brand I honestly adore, and their products are some of my complete must haves!

October Favourites 2016

Welcome to another monthly favourites! I love writing these posts because I just love looking back on the month, seeing what I have done and all the products I've been loving!

Clinique Chubby Stick in 02 whole lotta honey
I have been meaning to tell you about this product for a while, but I keep forgetting to put it in my favourites or another post. But this is basically a very moisturising lip crayon. Its the most gorgeous colour, goes with any makeup look, a very natural colour. Slightly browny shade (very on trade at the moment). Its very balmy and just beautiful to apply. I use this literally everyday, because in the morning I can never decide on a lipstick. I throw this colour on, then when I've arrived at work I will probably change to a more pigmented lipstick, so it lasts.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita
I haven't worn this an awful lot this month, if I'm completely honest. But I did a little shop on Debenhams my last post and I did fall in love with this shade, its a very similar shade to the Clinique Lip balm, a very on trend shade. The lipstick lasts for hours and hours, normally I have a lipstick in my bag to reapply, but I forgot to put this one in one day, and I actually didn't need to re-apply anyway, the staying power is amazing. I love the wand on this too, its very long so its quite easy to apply. My only downfall on this, is it takes me a while to apply the lipstick, to make it perfect, especially around my cupids bow.

Loreal Volume Million Lashes Mascara, Feline
I love mascaras which have a curved wand, so it really curles my lashes because mine are very stubborn and straight. The brush is the thing that sold this mascara to me. It creates a lot of length and separation which is what I love. There is some volume, but not crazy volume. Its just a gorgeous mascara for a curl that is very natural.

Zoeva Cocoa Blends Eyeshadow Palette
I apologise for mentioning this palette again, but Oh My I love it, so much! I reach for this daily. I wasn't planing on mentioning this palette this month, but I was like 'what have I been using on my eyes this month' and it was this. Normally I use 'bitter start' and 'sweeter end' as you can see, I've hit pan, haha. But this month I have been using the 3 shades underneath them, 'pure ganache' 'substitute for love' and 'freshly toasted' for the most amazing autumnal eye. AND, for my halloween makeup I used this palette so much, 'freshly toasted' was just the stand out shade, and the black shade in the palette 'beans are white' to create the contoured halloween makeup!

Estee Lauder Clear Difference Serum
This product is one I have used for a while now, but its amazing. If you suffer from blemish prone skin, then I would defiantly recommend investing in this. You just use it as a normal serum, so underneath your moisturiser. Its got a pump, so its easy to apply, I just use one pump in the morning and then another at night. It just clears up my skin and prevents blemishes. This month has been a spotty month, because the weather has changed so much and my skin just freaks OUT. But this has seriously been a life saver! I have a 50ml bottle, it is a pricey product, but totally worth it in my opinion.

Elegant Touch False Nails, totally bare
I have really been loving applying false nails this month. I'm normally super scared to apply them, and I would just prefer to go to a salon. But they honestly last about a week, and they are around £5. Where as if I went to a salon, they will last me around 3 weeks, and they are getting on for £30. So its just been a no brainer for me this month. They don't take me long to apply, and I can paint these ones any colour I wish, because they are bare. The elegant touch nails come with glue, and have all different sizes in them. For me, I do run out of the smaller nails first, which is annoying, but what can be done, haha.

Candles
I have been loving candles this month, every evening I light them all around the house and make the house all cosy and smelling insane. I don't have a particular candle which I have been loving, but I have been lighting my Yankee Candle - Snowflake cookie candle and I have discovered these cute little candles from Boots, super cheap and on 3 for 2!! Christmas pudding and Apple Crumble, amazing smells and I just love candles!
